How termeh is woven

The loom
Traditional termeh is woven on draw looms where the pattern is lifted thread by thread. Today many workshops use mechanised Jacquard looms; hand-woven pieces are rarer and slower to make.
Woven or printed?
Turn it over. Woven termeh shows the pattern in reverse, made of floating threads. Printed fabric shows a blank or faded back.
What to ask
Ask whether it was hand-woven or loom-woven, the fibre (wool, silk, cotton, synthetic) and the workshop. All are legitimate products, but the price should follow the answer.
